And if the mess is any indication, it's no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Ungar, a neurotic, neat freak who is thrown out by his own wife. Felix and Oscar ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born. The movie version featured Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. The show’s popularity has spurred various revivals, sitcoms, and even a cartoon. *Character Breakdown: *The director hopes to make this cast as diverse as possible without changing the text. OSCAR MADISON- The slob - Male. Some flexibility with age. Race open. FELIX UNGAR- The clean-freak - Male. Of an age that would have children living at home. Race open. GWENDOLYN & CECILY PIGEON- The dates. *Sisters*. British Accents required. Ages & race variable. SPEED, MURRAY (the cop), ROY, & VINNIE- The Poker Buddies. These characters will be considered Gender, Race & Age flexible- but adults only, please.
