The Canton Players Guild Theatre welcomes the exciting return of “A Christmas Carol: A New Musical” - The original musical adaptation from creators Steve Parsons and John Popa. This lively musical tells the ghostly story of Ebenezer Scrooge and the emotional journey towards his redemption, told through soul stirring melodies and a soaring score. All other roles are available. Bob Cratchit Male, 30s-50s; A hardworking clerk in Scrooge's employment. Dedicated to his family, especially his young son Tiny Tim. Cratchit maintains a kind heart, even in the face of Scrooge's mean-spiritedness. Fred Male, 20s-40s; Warm and passionate, Scrooge's nephew, feels sorry for the old man, yet still has a compassionate heart towards his aging uncle. Elizabeth Female, late teens-30s; Lovely, The wife of Scrooge's nephew Fred. Tired of having "Uncle Scrooge" over for Christmas dinner each year. Young Ebenezer Male, 20s-40s; Saving his money and running from a life of poverty, young Ebenezer is still happy and sociable and deeply in love with Belle. He is still searching for a place to call home, but has found a second family in the Fezziwigs. Belle Female, late teens-30s; Young, lovely, and goodhearted. Truly in love with young Ebenezer. Happy with the simple things in life - friends, family, and the joy that comes from loving someone and being loved in return. Tiny Tim Male, 6-11yrs old; The young son of Bob Cratchit. Weak and crippled, but full of true goodness and hope. More than anyone, Tiny Tim embodies the Christmas Spirit. Ghost of Christmas Past Female or Male, late teens-20s; A young, twinkly, spritely apparition, full of the Christmas spirit. Ghost of Christmas Present Male or Female, 20s-50s; A larger than life personality. Strong, convicting, yet sympathetic and warm hearted. Full of the Christmas Spirit. Mr Fezziwig Male, 30s-50s; A portly, jolly man. A kind-hearted businessman who helps Young Ebenezer. Mrs. Fezziwig Female, 20s-50s; The cheerful wife of Mr. Fezziwig. Happy to reach out and help her fellow man. Jacob Marley Male, 30s-60s; Former business partner of Scrooge. Returned from the grave to warn Scrooge of the consequences of living the life of a miser. Dick Wilkins/Topper Male, 20s-40s; Energetic and enthusiastic best friend of Young Ebenzer/Fred.
