Spark Theatre Company is seeking performers for its upcoming touring production of *The Imaginators* by Dwayne Hartford and for its Annual Fundraiser *Ignite the Night*. *WHEN:* Saturday, February 29th, 4pm-7pm Monday, March 2nd, 6pm-9pm *WHERE:* Stocker Center, Cirigliano Studio Theatre 1005 N. Walk Ups will be seen as time permits. *IGNITE THE NIGHT PERFORMERS* *Ignite the Night *is Spark's Annual Fundraising event, celebrating the arts, artists and raising money for arts assemblies throughout NE Ohio. The evening features singers, dancers, improvisation, and more. We are seeking performers who are interested in performing a piece of their choosing in any performing arts medium. This can include magicians, juggling acts, puppetry, poetry, cabaret performances and more. Solo artists and larger acts are all welcome. Performances should be family-friendly (roughly PG rated) although do not need to be tailored to children. *Rehearsal/Performances:* Those selected to perform will need to have availability on March 21st from 6-9pm for the event, and be able to arrive earlier on that date for any rehearsal, mic check, set-up that may be needed. *Compensation:* There is no compensation available for this event, but performers will receive complimentary tickets to event for themselves and a guest. This includes complimentary food, beverages and entertainment. *Prepare:* Please be prepared to demonstrate what you intend to perform at the event (stand up routine, song, etc.), no accompaniment will be provided. For larger acts (performance troupes, choirs, bands) who are interested, please email Rachael at SparkTheatre4Youth@gmail.com to send work samples instead of auditioning in person. *THE IMAGINATORS* *The Imaginators*, by Dwayne Hartford is the story of three children and the power of imagination. Anne and Tim have just moved to a new town and struggle to make new friends. Through a new neighbor, the children discover their own strengths, the value of cooperation, and the unlimited power of their imaginations as they figure out how to defeat an imaginary monster! The play reminds children and adults alike never to lose their sense of play and creativity. *AVAILABLE ROLES:* Timothy- played as male, any ethnicity/type. Must be at least 18, to play a child. An imaginative young boy who moves to a new town with his sister Anne. He is prone to playing make-believe and telling stories. He’s usually out-going but does get pushed around easily by both Nina and Anne. Anne- played as female, any ethnicity/type. Must be at least 18, to play a child. Tim’s older sister. She has also moved to a new town and looks forward to meeting the popular girls in her new school. She loves to work on her computer and get good grades. She is easily annoyed by her younger brother, Tim, and thinks playing make-believe is a bit childish. Nina- played as female, any ethnicity/type. Must be at least 18, to play a child. Nina is an eccentric young girl who loves making things up. She has a huge imagination and heart, but struggles to make friends in school. She befriends her new neighbors, Timothy and Anne, and leads their new group, “The Imaginators” on an epic adventure. William- played as male, any ethnicity/type. Must be at least 18, to play a teenager. Nina’s older brother who spends much of his time looking for his little sister. Nina hides from him, telling her new friends he is actually a monster in disguise. In the end, he’s a pretty normal big brother. *Rehearsals: *April 13th-May 4th based on actor availability. Rehearsals can be worked around actors' schedules, particularly for college students. *Performances: **May 4th- 29th, 2020. *Weekdays during school hours as in-school assemblies throughout NE Ohio. Most performances are in Lorain County, though also occasionally occur in Cuyahoga, Summit and Medina counties. Tours are open for booking throughout the full touring schedule, but many days may not be booked. Actors can expect to perform about 15 shows total throughout those dates. *Compensation: *Actors are paid of stipend of $500. Transportation to schools and/or transportation reimbursement is also provided by Spark Theatre Company. *Prepare: *Actors are asked to prepare a short, comedic or storytelling monologue and/or be prepared to read from the script. If you would like to read sides instead of preparing a monologue, please include that in your email and we will send sides to you. Please bring a headshot and resume as well as any potential conflicts. Auditions are open to actors ages 18 and up. Actors hired will undergo a federal background check through the Elyria Board of Education.
