*HATHAWAY BROWN THEATRE INSTITUTE - SUMMER 2021* *THE LIGHTNING THIEF* THE PERCY JACKSON MUSICAL Book by Joe Tracz Music & Lyrics by Rob Rokicki Based on the novel by Rick Riordan *July 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25 * Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute is thrilled to present the Northeastern Ohio Premiere of *The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. *Opening on Broadway in 2019, and nominated for three Drama Desk Awards, this "action packed mythical adventure" with its thrilling rock score is the musical adaptation of Rick Riordan's best selling book. Hailed as "a thoroughly endearing family friendly musical" by Broadway News and "Percy is a Rock Star!" by NY Daily News, this musical is compelling for fans and new audiences alike. As the son of Posiedon, Percy Jackson has newly discovered powers he can't control, monsters on his trail and is on a quest to find Zeus' stolen lightning bolt in order to prevent a war among the gods. HBTI's production of The Lightning Thief is co-directed by Bebe Weinberg Katz and Dan Hendrock. With music direction by John Krol and set/lighting design by T. Paul Lowry.
