FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 22, 2016 Contact: Joshua Erichsen 330-453-7619 *The Players Guild Theatre Announces Auditions for the 2015-16 Season Closing Musical * *Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s MARY POPPINS* CANTON, OH - Everyone’s favorite practically perfect nanny takes the stage in this wonderful musical adventure! The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.” The Players Guild Production team for MARY POPPINS includes: Joshua Erichsen, Producing Artistic Director; Michael Lawrence Akers, Director/Choreographer; Bart Herman, Choreographer; Steve Parsons, Music Director; Megan Slabach, Production Stage Manager. Auditions will be held at the Players Guild Theatre located in the Cultural Center for the Arts, 1001 Market Ave N., on Sunday, March 20 and Monday, March 21. Available audition times are as follows: Children Auditions (15 and younger), March 20 at 6:30PM, Adult Auditions (16 and older) March 20 at 8:30, 9:00, 9:30PM and again on March 21 at 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00PM. Non-traditional casting will be considered for all roles. Interested parties should sign up for a time slot by filling out the available online form at www.playersguildtheatre.com. Those auditioning are asked to please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song that best features their vocal ability, and bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided. Additionally, actors are asked to bring a current headshot and resume (if available) with them to their audition. Rehearsals will begin Sunday, March 27 and are held Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 until 10:00 PM. The production is scheduled to open on Friday, May 13 and will run for three weekends through Sunday, May 29, with Friday performances and Saturday performances at 8:00 PM, and Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.
