*Trail Tales: Art Competition for a Public Sidewalk Display* The Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) is pleased to announce *Trail Tales,* a new project in partnership with the Shaker Heights Public Library*. *Planned to open in June, this exhibit will be the first of an ongoing series of *Trail Tales;* the artwork will change two-to-three times each year. Artwork will be presented as a series of images arranged sequentially in front of the Bertram Woods branch library for the public to enjoy. SHAC is sponsoring an *art competition* for the images to be displayed. The inaugural project will feature photography and will celebrate *Shaker Reads,* the Library’s annual summer reading program For this first show, local photographers are invited to participate. Future exhibit calls for artists will ask for other 2D media. Artists may submit up to five [5] samples of their work with the application using the online form here <https://www.shakerartscouncil.org/tt-app.html>. Materials are due no later than 5pm, *Friday 10 April, **2026.* Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and either live or work in Shaker Heights, reside in the Shaker Heights School District, or be members of the Shaker Arts Council. These participants will be asked to design more than one display. Final work for the exhibit must be formatted to fit the 18 x 24 layout. Artists retain all copyrights to their artwork. Artists whose designs are selected will receive a $150.00 stipend per display panel. Final works must be submitted to SHAC via email (info@shakerartscouncil.org) no later than 5pm, *Friday 8 May 2026.* Design Criteria: Final designs must be submitted as camera-ready, 600 dpi files.
