CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM IS HOLDING AUDITIONS FOR THE WORLD PREMIERE OF IN THE CLOSET BY SIEGMUND FUCHS MONDAY, AUG 28 AT 7 PM. At convergence-continuum’s LIMINIS THEATER, 2438 Scranton Rd, Cleveland 44113 (Tremont neighborhood) Auditions will consist of readings from the script. PLEASE RESPOND to Artistic Director Clyde Simon at csimon@convergence-continuum.org IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND AUDITIONS, OR HAVE QUESTIONS The play takes place in a large walk-in closet where we find Old Man, Middle-Aged Man and Young Man. Each is in the closet for vastly different reasons. Enter John (Teen Man), who frantically runs in, freaked out immediately following his first gay sexual encounter. As all three of the other men try to convince John to come out of the closet, each has to confront his own awkward, humorous or heartbreaking reasons for being there himself. Directed by Cory Molner. Seeking to cast three white males. (Old Man has already been cast.) Ages listed below are characters’ ages, not necessarily actors’ ages. Middle-Aged Man (40’s) : A bit fussy. Sort of sarcastic. Has a shaved head. Brought a load of groceries with him into the closet / prepares snacks and bakes. (This closet is large! Includes typical things in a closet: boxes, clothes, etc., but also a table and chairs, stools, a kitchenette; a bathroom) The actor playing Middle-Aged Man must be willing to shave his head. Young Man (20’s): The wild one. Active. Adventurous. A flirt. (OK... he hooks up a lot). John (18): Has been questioning his sexuality. Freaked out that he actually did just hook up with a guy. In and out of denial. PRODUCTION DATES: opens Fri, Oct 13 and runs Thurs-Sat through Nov 4. Rehearsals starting in September. This will be a rolling world premiere with Rainbow Theatre Project, Washington DC. (But the con-con production will be first!)
