This is a full-length play that follows five members of the Women Airforce Service Pilots or WASP. The performance will be on July 24th at 7pm with a rehearsal for the Act 2 cast the evening of July 23rd. Because it is a stage reading, memorization is not required - the script will be in front of you. Rehearsals and performances will be with Makeshift Theatre in Akron. Synopsis: During World War Two, a group of young women risked their lives as flying aircraft for the United States Military. Thirty years later, the same women -- now in their 50s and 60s -- found that their service had been entirely overlooked, beginning a long debate about what it means to be officially recognized as US Veterans.The Order of Fifinella follows a small group of headstrong and ambitious women, first during the war when they served as pilots, and then in the 1970s after decades of change and disillusionment. THE CHARACTER: CONNIE - 53, Chinese-American, FemaleConnie is classy, stylish, and very sure of herself. Happily unmarried and living in San Francisco. She represents the two Chinese women enlisted in the WASP. Connie maintains a close friendship with Sandy, and the two travel together to Ohio. Connie fights housing discrimination in Cali, and while she’s prepared to fight to secure veteran status for her friends, she also recognizes military and government shortcomings.LOOKING FOR: An actress to play a supportive and confident woman. Connie doesn’t have any long monologues, but some larger chunks of dialogue.*
