Pioneer Trail, Aurora, OH 44202 Music by Mary Rodgers Lyrics by Marshall Barer Book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Marshall Barer Directed by Art Suskin Produced and Choreographed by Marc C. Howard Musical Direction by Tim Shaffer ABOUT THE PLAY: If you thought you knew the story of 'The Princess and The Pea,' you may be in for a walloping surprise! Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that Lady Larken's love for Sir Harry provided a rather compelling reason that she reaches the bridal altar post haste? Or that, in fact, it wasn't the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are you'll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again. And if you think you know Once Upon a Mattress, you will be surprised and delighted by the energetic approach that this company takes to that wonderful story! Rehearsals (5 per week on weekday evenings and weekends) will commence on March 6, 2016. Performances (10): Fridays and Saturdays, and Sundays (Matinées), April 29 through May 21 We will create an original experience of a sweetly powerful play in a modern way.
