Cleveland Opera Theater is holding auditions for 3 paid roles in Previn’s “A Streetcar Named Desire,” running Dec. 4 and Dec. 6 at the Cleveland Performance Arts Center. Auditions by appointment are held on *Thursday, Oct. 8th* at the Cleveland Masonic Auditorium, E. 36th and Euclid Ave, from 6:00 – 8:00PM. Roles being cast: 1. Steve (tenor/speaking role): Stanley Kowalski's poker buddy. Steve is brutish, hot-blooded and an abusive husband. 2. A Doctor (speaking, non-singing role): Arrives at the play's finale to escort Blanche to an asylum. His image conforms to Blanche's notions of a chivalric Southern gentleman. 3. Pablo: (non-singing/non-speaking role) Another of Stanley's poker buddies. Pablo is Hispanic and emphasizes the cultural diversity of their neighborhood.
