The Ohio Light Opera in Wooster is seeking friendly and reliable volunteer ushers to help welcome our audiences for our July performances. What You’ll Do As an usher, you are the face of our theater and an ambassador to our guests . Your core responsibilities include: Welcoming Guests: Greeting patrons, scanning tickets, and distributing playbills. Guiding Audiences: Helping attendees find their seats and answering questions . Ensuring Safety: Assisting the house manager with crowd control and emergency procedures if needed . The Perks Free Shows: Enjoy complimentary admission to the performance you work! Community Connection: Meet fellow theater enthusiasts and get an inside look at how a production comes together. Flexibility: Sign up only for the shifts and dates that fit your schedule. (Typically a 4-Hour or less commitment per show) Requirements & Expectations Attire: Ability to adhere to a neat, professional dress code. White shirt, black bottoms and closed-toed shoes Reliability: Ability to arrive on time (typically 60 minutes prior to curtain. 1:00 p.m. for matinees. 6:30 p.m. for evening performances) and stand comfortably for the duration of the seating process.
