Auditions Failure: A Love Story A musical farce by Philip Dawkins Directed by Ron Newell Audition Dates: Tues., February 8 and Wed., February 9 at 7:00 pm Show Dates: May 6 - 29, 2022 Performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 2pm Story: By the end of 1928, all three Fail sisters will be dead — expiring in reverse order, youngest to oldest, from blunt object to the head, disappearance, and finally consumption. Tuneful songs, and a whimsical chorus follow the story of Nelly, Jenny June, and Gerty as they live out their lives above the family clock repair shop. A magical, musical fable where, in the end, the power of love is far greater than any individual’s successes or failures. Cast: 3 Women, 2 Men and an additional 3 for Chorus All parts are mid to late twenties, except members of Chorus can be any age. This is a show with music. All cast will play multiple roles which could include clocks, dogs, snakes, and assorted other animals/things. Nelly Fail – the youngest Jenny June Fail – the middlest Gertrude Fail – the eldest John N. Fail – the adopted brother Mortimer Mortimer – the lover (must sing and move well) Chorus – all cast will be in chorus This is a high energy show. Cast members should be physically fit. Open auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, movement, singing and ability to perform various voices - snakes, parakeets, and different characters. A pianist will be provided. Auditions - Wednesday, March 16 from 7-9pm *Same Time, Next Year* A comedy by Bernard Slade Directed by Ron Newell We are looking for a man and a woman, 20's-30’s, for this hilarious story. One of the most popular romantic comedies of the century, "Same Time, Next Year" ran four years on Broadway, winning a Tony® Award for lead actress Ellen Burstyn, who later recreated her role in the successful motion picture. It remains one of the world’s most widely produced plays. The plot follows a love affair between two people, Doris and George, married to others, who rendezvous once a year. Twenty-five years of manners and morals are hilariously and touchingly played out by the lovers. Open auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Keith Stiver *Sunday, **May 22 and Monday, May 23 from 7-9pm* *The story:* One year ago, Edmond died in a horrible fire. He took with him the dreams of his fiancée, Meredith, the trust of his best friend, Eric, and the answers to the burning questions that still linger about his death and the terrible crime he committed. But on a stormy night at the cemetery where he rests, the secrets from his past will finally refuse to stay buried; and those he left behind will finally refuse to stay silent. We are looking for someone to play Eric, the handsome villain of the play and could be 24-40. The parts of Meredith and Edmond are cast.
