 The Repertory Project presents
Awakening
February 1 & 2, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. & February 3, 2002 at 3:00 p.m.
Cuyahoga Community College Metro Campus Theatre
February 1-3, 2002, The Repertory Project will present their modern dance
concert Awakening at the Cuyahoga Community College Metro Campus Theatre,
located at the corner of East 30th and Woodland Avenue in Cleveland.

The 2002 concert season begins with some of the company's favorite
choreography, focusing on dances portraying passion and the search for love
and belonging. Aperture by Doug Varone is a delicately organized trio
presenting three individuals, as they inhabit the space inside and outside
of the camera’s lens. Doubts About Waking by Brian Jeffrey is a duet set in
the hazy state between sleep and awakening. In Rain by José Luis
Bustamante, the dancers’ intimate movements illuminate the awakening of love
with tenderness and passion. Susan Van Pelt’s Viriditas is a trio portraying
movement in evolution from morning to night.

Highlighting the performance will be the Cleveland premier of the sextet,
Hovering by Mathew Janczewski. Using full-bodied movement, this sextet
explores the nature of memory and the essence of living a meaningful life.
The music, Shaker Loops by John Adams, provides a driving force that propels
the dancers and the audience on a journey toward transformation.

General Admission is $12 advance/$15 day of show, Students & Seniors (with
valid ID) $10 advance/$13 day of show. All credit card transactions are
subject to a processing fee. For tickets and information call 216.397.3757
or send e-mail to info at repertoryproject.org.
