WAKE UP And LIVE's Playwright's Lab Program, "PlayActs"
Reminds you that . . .
the Sue Johnson WAKE UP And LIVE's Actors' Studio is accepting original plays
(comedy or drama) from beginning and experienced playwrights for its Staged
Readings Program, "PlayActs." Adults, High school & college drama students
are encouraged to submit their works.
Plays will be reviewed for:
1. Reflecting diversity
. particularly substantive roles for women of all ages (but especially
for 'mature'
women over 40- 45 years)
. other minorities (ethnic, etc.)
2. Creativity, originality & potential to be performed as staged readings of
one hour or
less, before an audience. (two/three-act Plays will be read to conform
to time
format.)
If selected:
1. the playwright will have the opportunity to work with the director
and actors
in the play's development and performance process.
2. the version of the play submitted is the version which will be
performed.
. Plays must be submitted by: Monday, May 20, 2002.
. Plays will be selected by: Approx. June 20th.
. Staged readings are tentatively scheduled to be performed: July, 2002.
. Playwrights must submit:
. $15.00 Entry Fee for each one-act play to be considered
. $20.00 Entry Fee for each two/three- act play to be
considered
. two copies of each play to be considered.
