KSU=92S SCHOOL OF THEATRE & DANCE ANNOUNCES 2002-03 SEASON
Join corporate employees, gamblers, explorers and dancers at Kent State 
University

Kent, Ohio =96 Kent State University=92s School of Theatre & Dance announces the 
2002 =96 2003 season.  Meet stressed out corporate employees, gamblers, 
explorers and dancers during the School of Theatre & Dance=92s 2002 =96 2003 
season.  The season opens with a satirical look at the corporate world, Below 
the Belt and continues with Shakespeare=92s comedy of sexual tension and moral 
debate, Measure for Measure.  The semester closes with Dance 2002: 
Reflections, a showcase of the latest in modern dance and jazz choreography.  
Start the New Year off with the Tony & Grammy Award winning musical, Guys & 
Dolls.   Dance Majors and Minors display their talent in the Student Dance 
Festival and Theatre Majors and Minors do the same during the Student Theatre 
Festival.  The Kent Dance Ensemble presents its annual concert in April.  
Three Victorian explorers close the season with On the Verge.

The fall semester at Kent State University begins with a satirical look at 
company men that touches everyone who has ever had to deal with a manically 
divisive boss and an ambitious brown noser or an unbearable workplace.  
Directed by Doctor Marya Bednerik, Below the Belt, is just another day at the 
office.  Below the Belt runs October 4 =96 13, 2002 in the Wright-Curtis 
Theatre.  Professor Terry Burgler directs Shakespeare=92s Measure for Measure in 
the Wright-Curtis Theatre.  This thrilling play with sexual tension and moral 
debate, runs November 1 =96 10, 2002.  The semester ends with Dance 2002: 
Reflections, November 21 =96 24, 2002 in E. Turner Stump Theatre.  Choreographed 
by Dance Faculty, Dance 2002: Reflections is the latest in modern dance and 
jazz choreography.

Gamblers, dancers and explorers all make an appearance during the spring 
semester.  1940=92s Broadway comes to life February 21 =96 March 2, 2003 in Guys & 
Dolls.  Professor Terri Kent directs this Tony and Grammy Award winner in the 
E. Turner Stump Theatre.  March 14 =96 16, 2003, Dance Majors and Minors strut 
their stuff by choreographing for the Student Dance Festival, one of Kent 
State=92s most diverse performances, which takes place in Wright-Curtis Theatre.
 Theatre Majors and Minors then have a chance to direct during the Student 
Theatre Festival, March 17 =96 21, 2003.  The Kent Dance Ensemble will perform 
their annual concert April 4 =96 6, 2003 in the E. Turner Stump Theatre.  The 
KSU student touring company will present its annual concert of modern dance & 
jazz choreography April 4 - 6 in E. Turner Stump Theatre.  Three Victorian 
explorers close the season in On the Verge, April 17 =96 27, 2003.  Directed by 
Professor Eric van Baars, three woman travel through physical space and time 
to discover who they really are.

Performances are Tuesdays =96 Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2:30 PM.  Tickets 
are $10 for adults, $8 for Seniors, KSU Alumni and KSU Faculty/Staff and $7 
for students with any valid school ID.  Groups of ten or more can receive 
discounted tickets by calling 330-672-0103.  The School of Theatre & Dance box 
office opens on September 18.  Box-office hours are 12 PM =96 5 PM, Tuesdays =96 
Fridays and one hour before performance times.  Tickets can be purchased by 
calling 330-672-2497.  The box office accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

This season the School of Theatre & Dance is offering a variety of 
subscription packages.  Theatre Subscriptions include admission to all four 
plays and are $32 for Adults, $26 for Seniors, KSU Faculty, Staff and Alumni, 
and $22 for Students.  A Dance Subscription includes admission to all three 
dance concerts and are $22 for Adults, $18 for Seniors, KSU Faculty, Staff and 
Alumni, and $16 for Students.  A Full Subscription includes admission to all 
School of Theatre & Dance productions and is $54 for Adults, $44 for Seniors,
