A breezy, informal, and very witty memoir about life as a hugely successful B movie actor (without, somehow, sliding over onto the A list). Campbell began working in show business as a teenager, and in high school became friends with future director Sam Raimi, with whom he eventually co-produced the 1982 cult horror movie Evil Dead, which Campbell also starred in. From those beginnings, Campbell charms the reader into the heart of If Chins Could Kill, which is not so much a gory tell-all, as you might expect from the star of Evil Dead, but a truly revealing insider's how-to on making independent films and becoming a cult icon. Fascinating, entertaining, and humorous throughout, this is a great beach read for readers obsessed with the pleasures of pop culture.
