Kulture Kids will be on PBS this Thursday (16th), at 7:30 PM (WVIZ-TV, Ch.
25) on "Applause!", hosted by Dee Perry. The same show repeats on Saturday
(18th) at 5:30 PM and Sunday (19th) at 12:30 PM.
Artistic Director and playwright Robin Pease will be discussing her new
shows on "The Immigrants" as children interact with giant puppets (designed
by Robin VanLear and Carl Johnson of the Cleveland Museum of Art). Puppets
and set pieces include: the Statue of Liberty; a flying bald eagle (America's
symbol!); an African hunter; a burning Russian village; and a beautifully
painted backdrop depicting a mosaic of the immigrants that built our country
(painted by local artist Mary Ann Breisch, who designed the gorgeous new tile
floor for the renovated Trinity Cathedral in downtown Cleveland). The
immigrants shows are available for booking in schools, community centers, and
other venues.
