FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 29
CATHY & MARCY
To Perform At CAIN PARK
One Night Only

(CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH) Grammy nominated singing/songwriting
instrumentalists Cathy and Marcy are performing at Cain Park in Cleveland
Heights Tuesday, August 12 at 8 pm, as well as a KIDZART performance from
1-2 pm. Tickets for the evening performance are $8/6/4 in advance, and
$11/9/7 the day of the show; tickets for the afternoon performance are $3 /
child and $6 / accompanying adult.

Former teachers and cowgirls at heart Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer have been
nominated for eight Grammys in the past five years. Their latest release,
Pocket Full of Stardust completes their trilogy of lullaby CDs, and has wo=
n
awards from Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, Parents=B9 Choice, Parents Guide to
Children=B9s Media and National Association of Parenting Publications. While
their CDs are major hits with young and old alike, their shows are what
really make the grade. With such stunts as rope tricks (which Marxer
learned while at a convention of the Wild West Arts Club) and yodeling,
(which they picked up early in their career while performing with cowgirl
Patsy Montana), Cathy and Marcy truly know how to draw in an audience
comprised of children ranging from ages 2 to 102 - yes, even those
hard-to-please pre-teens. Also due out this year from Cathy and Marcy is th=
e
family CD Bon Appetit which addresses the issue of nutrition in a way that
children can understand and enjoy.

Aside from their careers as children=B9s entertainers, Cathy and Marcy are
also experienced folk singers. Their most recent folk CD, Postcard,s was
also nominated for a Grammy, and was produced, recorded, mixed, and
independently released by Cathy and Marcy. The CD not only includes folk
music, but also old time and jazz styles.

Cleveland Heights residents presenting a Recreation ID and people presentin=
g
a Military ID receive a $3 discount. Children=B9s tickets are 50% off when
attending with a parent if all attending family members hold Cleveland
Heights Recreation IDs. A $2 discount is available when presenting a senio=
r
citizen ID, a student ID, or a Friends of Cain Park membership card. There
are no discounts for the KIDZART performance.

The Coventry Magic Bus!, with support from Coventry Village Special
Improvement District, KeyBank, and Severance Town Center, provides FREE
rides to/from Cain Park from 1 hour before the event to 1 hour after the
event ends (evening performance only). Park in front of KeyBank on the
north side of Severance Town Center or, for those who live near Coventry,
walk to the south entrance of the Coventry Parking Garage (behind Medic
Drug) for pick-up. www.coventryvillage.org.

y
phone 216.371.3000, or by FAX 216.371.6995 (please include full name,

2003 season sponsors are the Inter-Continental Hotel, Motorcars, Nextel
Retail Stores, and the Ohio Arts Council.
