AUDITIONS FOR LEND ME A TENOR AT SOLON CENTER FOR THE ARTS

=20

            Solon Center for the Arts will host open auditions for Lend =
Me A Tenor on March 22 and 23 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm.  The show opens on =
May 14 and runs Fridays and Saturdays through May 29 at 7:30 pm with two =
Sunday matinees on May 16 and 23 at 2:00 pm.  There is also a special =
Senior Preview on Thursday, May 13 at 7:00 pm.

            Barbara Rhoades, a Solon favorite, returns as director.  =
Last season, she directed Love, Sex and the I.R.S." The set is being =
designed by Mark Kobak.

            All roles are open and include Max, Maggie, Saunders, Tito =
Merelli, Maria, the Bellhop, Diana and Julia.  Actors should be prepared =
to read scenes from the script and if auditioning for the parts of Tito, =
the Bellhop and Max please prepare 16 bars of a ballad or an aria.=20

            Lend Me A Tenor, a wildly exciting comedy farce, begins when =
the Cleveland Grand Opera Company announces the opening gala performance =
with Tito Merelli singing the role of "Otello."  But the world-famous =
tenor is dead! Or is he?  The show must go on with a series of mistaken =
identities, wacky actors and many surprises. =20

            Playwright Ken Ludwig won several awards for the show =
including 2 Tony Awards, 4 Drama Desk Awards, 3 Outer Critics Circle =
Awards, and was nominated for seven Tony Awards and the Olivier Award as =
"Comedy of the Year" in 1986.
