Thanks to one and all who came out last night to the Algebra Tea House to
celebrate the birthday of OUR poet, who turned 69 last night.

Now here is another update for you: Daniel has started the therapy - on his
birthday, no less!  He wastes no time.  It is another round of chemotherapy;
but it is done on an out-patient basis at the Cleveland Clinic. The drug is
attached to an antibody, and can be pinpointed and aimed at the disease, with
precision. It is used in situations like Daniel's, and was unavailable to him
when he was first diagnosed with leukemia, two summers ago.

For those of you who did not make it last night (another Happening!), what
you can do for Daniel is to pray for his good health, and more productive years
with all of us. We all love him, very much; and over here at Drumplay
Central, we are hoping that Daniel will be able to pull through, once again,
physically. We have many plans for him, if he is able.

Those of us who know Daniel, are already aware of his soaring spirit, which
cannot be extinguished.

P. S. Thanks to Katie and Maj for helping me to arrange this affair; and
thanks to all the folks who brought food and poems to share. It was a LOVE FEAST.

Join us tomorrow night, when Daniel with Drumplay are helping to raise money
for the purchase of a cow for a village preschool in Kenya. Here is the
information:

Fri, Apr 23, 7-10pm: Koffe House for Kenyan Kids and a Kow.

The 8th Grade kids at Urban Community School hosts this event at St. Paul's
Community Church, 4427 Franklin Blvd., to raise money to purchase a cow
through the Heifer Project for a preschool in Kenya. The cow will provide
milk for their porridge.

Admission is $5.00 for adults; $2.00 for 13 and under; or the entire family
for $10.00. For more information: caixa at prodigy.net or call Maria at (216)
