This show is a must-see for all live music fans! Both groups are huge crowd-pleasers, and have headlined to standing ovations at the prestigious Ann Arbor Folk Festival (as well as numerous other outdoor music festivals around the Midwest). With eclectic instrumentation and stunning vocal harmonies, each group takes the audience on a musical and emotional journey with their unique style:

The Raisin Pickers are a traditional folk trio who won a blue ribbon at the Appalachian String Band Festival in West Virginia -- "Tight vocals with creative string band arrangements… The Raisin Pickers' crowd-winning performance was a magical moment on the Clifftop stage." And WUOM radio says "Style follows style in rapid fire succession with this band. You catch your breath and wonder what's coming around the corner next."

Tangerine Trousers is a six-piece group that moves effortlessly between folk, blues, jazz, pop, and other musical Americana, and just won the 2004 Detroit Music Award for "Outstanding Acoustic Group." The Trousers have been receiving great national press from the likes of Performing Songwriter and No Depression magazines (who call the Trousers "An unassuming powerhouse!"). Taylor Guitar's Wood & Steel magazine said "If you believe that great music sometimes disappears in the cracks between genres, you owe it to yourself to check out this group.” Not to mention, what other band in the world has a guy who plays a Slinky and a cheese-grater as musical instruments on stage?!!? (that alone is worth the price of admission!)

For those in the Akron area, Tangerine Trousers will have a live RADIO Performance on The Summit - 91.3 FM's Just Plain Folk Show tomorrow night (Tuesday) during the 8:00pm hour! Listen live on the Internet HERE.

Please pass this on to your email list -- this is one concert NOT to miss!

All the best,

Michael

The Raisin Pickers hails from Manchester Michigan, a historical little town along the River Raisin, (their namesake). And much like this river, the path of the Raisin Pickers' has stretched from Upper Canada, to Branson, Nebraska and West Virginia. They won a blue ribbon at the Appalachian String Band Festival in West Virginia, recorded four records over the years, and have spearheaded a new festival in their hometown. They continue touring throughout the Midwest and Canada, and organize the Riverfolk Festival held the first Saturday of August in Manchester Michigan.
