CAIN PARK PRESENTS
CLEVELAND CONTEMPORARY DANCE THEATRE & FRIENDS

    CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH- Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre and Friends
celebrates the human spirit through dance at Cain Park Evans Amphitheater o=
n
July 14 at 8 p.m.  In addition, CCDT will also perform a Kidzart concert on
Tuesday, July 13 from 1 to 2 p.m.
   Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre shares the stage with Peter Kalivas
of The Se=E1n Curran Company and Cleveland=B9s own Dancing Wheels.  In addition=
,
the performance will also include a collaboration with the Cleveland Jazz
Orchestra on CCDT=B9s 2003 work =B3Brasilliance,=B2 set to the music of Duke
Ellington.
   The Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre (CCDT) was founded in the late
1990s by world traveled dancer Michael Medcalf.  He is a professional dance=
r
who has worked intimately with prominent choreographers such Talley Beatty,
Katherine Dunham, Donald McKayle , Ronald K. Brown and Cleo Parker Robinson=
.
     This unique company was the first professionally established
contemporary dance company in Northeast Ohio that brought to the forefront
the contributions of African-Americans and others from diverse communities
to the art of dance.
   Over the past five years, CCDT has been dedicated to enriching and
enhancing the quality of the life of minorities and all people by
celebrating, teaching, and promoting diversity through dance and related
experiences.=20
    CCDT is no stranger to sold-out performances.  It is a professional
dance company in residence at Cleveland Public Theater.  In the first four
months of the company=B9s 2002-2003 season, over 1,000 people attended their
performances.=20
   Advance tickets for Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre & Friends are
$18 for center/front sides, $16 for back sides, $14 lawn. Day-of-show
tickets are $23 for center/front sides,  $21 for back sides, $19 for lawn.
   General admission tickets to the July 13 Kidzart performance are $3 per
child and $6 per adult.
   The Coventry Magic Bus!, with support from Coventry Village Special
Improvement District, KeyBank and Severance Town Center, will provide free
rides to/from Cain Park, running one hour before the performance and one
hour after it ends.  Park in front of Borders Books and Music at Severance
Town Center or, for those who live near Coventry, walk to the entrance of
