JESSE is one of the most influential mandolin players in Bluegrass having
developed a cross pickiung style that is very unique. Jess and his late
brother Jim McReynolds are members of the Grand Ole Opry, Bluegrass Hall of
Fame and are National Heritage Award Fellows for contributions to folk and
roots music. An interesting note is that Jesse played on the DOORS album
Soft Parade making him one of the first roots musicians to perform on a Rock
album. This was well before Vassar Clements was recording with Grateful Dead
