Two new shows to think about--

Friday September 17th 8pm THE WAYWARD STREET PLAYERS a totally unique
Americana musical experience...part cabaret, part Dixieland jazz with a bit
of Mills Brothers thrown in. This show is ideal for the entire family .
"Doug Everton has developed a performing art unlike any other. He not only
sings the classics, he imitates the original performers too with banjo,
guitar, washboards, bass and a full "vocal" brass section. From Barbershop
Quartet music to Louis Armstrong from Bluegrass to Delta Blues, mix it all
together and you'll have the sound of THE WAYWARD STREET PLAYERS. $7.50
admission.

Saturday September 18, 8PM "TEENPALOOZA" 4 or 5 teen bands from the area
performing live on a Saturday night! . A number of these groups have
participated in our KING OF THE MOUNTAIN band competitions and the sounds
range from punk to acoustic. We are still looking for one more band. $7.50
admission.

GroundWorks Dancetheater is proud to return to the Akron Icehouse for its 6th annual performance series September 10-12, 2004.	The company will present a dynamic program of live music and dance featuring two world premieres choreographed by GroundWorks Artistic Director David Shimotakahara and guest choreographer Gina Gibney. These performances are underwritten in part though the generous support of Akron Community Foundation.

Performances September 10-12
Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 8pm and the Sunday matinee performance begins at 2pm at the Northside Ice/Coal Factory Complex (The Icehouse), located at 129 North Summit Street between Perkins and Furnace Streets in Akron, Ohio.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling GroundWorks Dancetheater at (216) 691-3180. Ticket prices are $18.00 general admission and $12.00 for students and seniors. A special discount rate is available for Sunday afternoon ($12 adults with families and $5 for children 12 and under).

New York artist Gina Gibney returned to Northeast Ohio July 26 to August 14, 2004 to create her third piece for GroundWorks Dancetheater. (Ms. Gibney choreographed Several Truths in 2001 and Always in 2003.)

The new work by Artistic Director David Shimotakahara is titled Still Life and is created in collaboration with long-time music associate Gustavo Aguilar. The new piece celebrates their 10th anniversary of collaborating and will feature live music created by Mr. Aguilar and the improvisational group SONU.

We look forward to seeing you in Akron!
