            Cleveland, Ohio - The Beck Center for the Arts kicks off its
2004-2005 Studio Theater Season with the help of Cleveland's own Seth
Gordon and comic wizard, Kenneth Lonergan.  The New York Magazine
proclaims, "Soon after making the year's best movie, You Can Count On
Me, Lonergan delights us with his irrepressible Lobby Hero," which opens
in the Beck Center's intimate Studio Theater on October 1 and runs
through October 24.

            Lobby Hero centers on Jeff, a security guard in a Manhattan
high-rise who slacks his way through the graveyard shift by joking
around with his boss and talking to anyone who'll listen. Then his boss
presents him with what he describes as an "interesting dilemma," and the
next thing Jeff knows, he's complicit in covering up a crime. Jeff, his
boss William, and the two police officers who come by each night all
want to do the right thing, but none can quite decide what the right
thing is. Lobby Hero was the hit of the 2000-2001 off-Broadway theatre
season, and TimeOut called it the "best drama, best comedy and the best
romance of the year, all rolled into one."

The Beck Center is proud to host Seth Gordon of the Cleveland Play House
as he directs an accomplished cast that includes Jennifer Clifford, Paul
Floriano, Matthew Joslyn and Jimmie D. Woody. Seth is Director of New
Play Development at the Cleveland Play House. He recently received the
Northern Ohio Live Award for Excellence in Theatre, in part for his
direction of the Beck Center's production of Agnes of God.

Lobby Hero runs October 1 through October 24 and is sponsored by 90.3
WCPN. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and
