Music fans will enjoy a range of music from rock to jazz at some of
their favorite pubs, all to help musicians impacted by Hurricane
Katrina. The city-wide event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 5
p.m. until closing at each site. Sponsored by Tri-C Performing Arts,
Tri-C Recording Arts Technology, The Tri-C JazzFest, Undercurrents, Free
Times and others, 15 venues and 40 bands are donating their space and
talents to benefit the New Orleans Musicians Clinic, a non-profit, New
Orleans-based organization that provides comprehensive health care for
musicians.

All of the proceeds will go directly to the New Orleans Musicians
Clinic.

In addition, Recording Arts Technology Program Director Tommy Wiggins
will head up a band of musicians who will perform on TV station Fox-8.
The Crooked River Groove Gumbo Band, featuring Anne E. DeChant, Carlos
Jones, Joe Rohan, Groovy Dave from the Water band, Rob Williams, and
Wiggins, will appear on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday segments.

Founded in 1998, the New Orleans Musicians Clinic (NOMC) is the first of
its kind, non-profit health care service for musicians offering
comprehensive, preventative and occupational medicine. Sponsored by the
Daughters of Charity Services of New Orleans, The New Orleans Jazz and
Heritage Foundation and the LSU Health Care Network, the NOMC is the
first such health initiative and wellness partnership in the United
States addressing the health care needs of musicians and their families.
