We are Still in Need of a Talented Actress for a Great Role in the Hudson
Players production of BARNUM-

Performances will be held Feb 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 19*, 24 & 25

The part available is a dual role described by the rights house as follows:

Joice Heth - "The oldest woman alive". This is Barnum's first act, a woman
reported to be 160 years old (she undoubtedly wasn't) who Barnum passed off
as George Washington's nursemaid (she wasn't) is usually played by a young
Black woman in her 20's or 30's (can easily be older). This part will be
open to any woman who can sing and dance the part. Sings: "Thank God I'm
Old", also usually doubles as the blues singer.

Blues Singer - Sings the lead in a jazzy blues song called "Black and
White". May be same actress as Joice Heth or cast separately.

Please contact me back asap via email if you are interested or know of
someone who might be. Also have limited slots available for interested
clowns, chorus members, gymnasts and circus performer types. Thanks! A
description of the show is below:
The Show:

Barnum is a high energy jazzy musical from 1980. With Music by Cy Colman,
Lyrics by Michael Stewart and Book by Mark Bramble, Barnum is full of
lights, movement, dance, and magic. In the words of the lead character in
the opening of the show, "Tonight, on this stage, you are going to see --
bar none -- every sight, wonder, and miracle that name stands for!".

Barnum has need for performers who can juggle, spin a plate on a stick, do a
hand stand, tumble, spin a baton, be a clown, and almost any other specialty
associated with a circus or carnival. Barnum is a show in which the ensemble
is involved in many numbers and scenes throughout the show. Chorus numbers
include "One Brick At A Time," "Come Follow the Band," "Black & White,"
"Join the Circus" and more. Call 330-655-8522 for more information or visit
