Windsong, Cleveland’s Feminist Chorus, will be
performing Saturday, May 20th at 7:30pm at Archwood
UCC, 2800 Archwood Avenue (off Pearl just south of the
I-71 exit). Joined by SheWho, an acclaimed women’s
octet from Philadelphia, Windsong will present a
concert entitled “The Importance of Being Ernestine,”
a celebration of women who follow their passion. With
references to unsung feminist heroes of the past, and,
of course, a nod to Oscar Wilde, the program includes
popular standards from the Women’s Choral Movement,
recently composed works by Gwyneth Walker and Sandi
Peaslee, and works by Gilbert and Sullivan, Rogers and
Hart, and Stephen Schwartz. Karen Weaver directs and
Karin Tooley accompanies. Tickets are $15 and are
available at the door or by calling (216) 368-6522.
