Auditions are being held for Cleveland Public Theatre's Student Theatre
Enrichment Program (STEP). 

STEP is an 8-week training program for inner-city teens, where students
create, produce, and perform an original theatrical work, and then tour this
work to Cleveland city parks, providing free performances to the public.  In
2005, STEP performances were seen by over 1,500 Cleveland children, teens,
and adults.

We are looking for TEENS:

ages 14 to 19

who live in any of Cleveland's 21 wards

whose family income is reported as moderate, low, or very low

who are open to working with 25-50 peers of diverse cultural and ethnic
backgrounds

who may have little to no performance experience (we train everyone)

who are seeking new skills of self-expression, goal-setting, timeliness,
self-discipline, and project follow-though

who want to learn how to create original performance works

who like the idea of performing for their community

who want to meet new people, be a part of a team, have fun, and have a
chance to shine

Audition dates are Saturday, June 3rd 1pm-4pm or Thursday, June 8th 2pm-5pm.
Interested students must:

1. Call 216-631-2727 x 201 and choose an audition date

2. Arrive 10 minutes early to their chosen date

3. Be prepared to stay the full 3 hours

4. Come in clothes appropriate for a lot of movement

5. Have a short (1 minute) audition piece ready to share-this can be a
monologue, a poem, a song, a rap, or a dance-original or existing material
