The last I read this law was passed by the public, not the state
legislature. Therefore, I am pretty sure 
that you would need to have another public vote to repeal it. Did you
notice that the same public voted
to add even more tax on cigarettes, but then voted to restrict where you
could smoke them? I don't 
smoke, but I am interested to hear what percentage of the price of
cigarettes is taxes. I would be willing
to bet that it is more than half. If you remember from 2005, the state
added $.70 to the price of each pack,
but really didn't give an explanation of what the tax was for. If you
want to hurt the politicians, quit smoking.
That will dry up their revenue stream. Then they might consider actually
solving problems instead of throwing
money at them. But then again, they'll just find something else to tax.
The rationale will be "Well, cheeseburgers 
are bad for you, so if you're going to buy them, you'll have to pay an
additional fee".

It is time for smokers to say "enough!"  Now the health nazis have
decided that privately owned bars and restaurants are "public" places.
Those of us who smoke, and those of you who believe in personal freedom,
have to stand up for OUR rights.  Don't go out to eat anymore.  Don't go
to bars.  If enough of us participate in this boycott, they will rescind
this law.  The pressure from restaurant and bar owners will be too much.
The owners or managers of these establishments should be able to
determine what goes on in their own places, as long as it's within the
law.  And smoking is still legal.  Let's stand up for a change!
