Dear Sheldon and all of the smoking public,

Thank you!  YOU helped us vote in both the additional tax on  
cigarettes (which, by the way, will help artists in our professions)  
and the ban against poisoning nonsmokers in public places.

A child of smokers has a 2-out-of-3 chance of getting lung cancer  
even if that child never smokes.  Lung cancer for children of  
nonsmokers is on the rise.   Healthcare costs increase constantly in  
part because the healthcare system pays for all of the health  
problems caused by smoking and second-hand smoke, and then kindly  
passes the costs on to nonsmokers as well as those who caused the  
problem.

FYI, the term "public place" includes "privately owned" bars and  
restaurants.  Smoke at home, smoke in each others' homes, just leave  
the rest of us out of it.  Wait, that's what YOU helped us to vote  
into practice.  Again, thanks.
