2007 SEASON MARKS 39TH ANNIVERSARY FOR PROFESSIONAL SUMMER STOCK, PORTHOUSE
THEATRE ON THE GROUNDS OF BLOSSOM MUSIC CENTER

Cuyahoga Falls, OH - Northeast Ohio's premiere outdoor summer-stock theatre,
Porthouse Theatre opens its 39th season with the oh-so-entertaining
rock-a-billy musical Pump Boys and Dinettes. Running June 14 - 30, Pump
Boys and Dinettes will be directed by Assistant Artistic Director, Eric van
Baars. Created and written by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass
Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann, Pump Boys and Dinettes features a
country-pop score that serves up lots of great music, ranging from country
ballads to high-energy acoustic rock. Originally starting as a cabaret act
in NYC, Pump Boys and Dinettes and moved through the ranks of Broadway,
where it received a Tony nomination as the Best Musical of 1982 and was
filmed for NBC as "Pump Boys and Dinettes on Television" (1983). With songs
like "The Night Dolly Parton Was Almost Mine" and "Be Good or Be Gone,"
audiences will have an opportunity to participate, tip the waitresses and
even eat a piece of homemade apple pie from the dinette. The N.Y Daily news
calls it "A gasser". Opening Night/ Press night: Friday, June 15. Opening
night will conclude with a meet-the-cast reception featuring the culinary
delights of Totally Cooked Catering Co., as well as complimentary champagne,
wine, beer and soft drinks.

Running July 5 - 21 is J.M. Barrie's timeless classic, Peter Pan. This
family favorite will be transformed by visiting New York City director
Matthew Earnest into a captivating, unfettered account of an ineffable,
energy-charged trip to Never Never Land where magic rules over technology.
Starring nationally-acclaimed actors John Woodson as Captain Hook/Mr.
Darling and Monica Bell as Mrs. Darling, this imagery-filled Peter Pan will
amaze adults as much as children. Opening Night/Press Night: July 6
includes a complimentary champagne, meet-the-cast reception.

Rounding out the season is the Terri Kent directed and John R. Crawford
choreographed Broadway musical sensation, Sweet Charity which runs July 26
through August 12. With a hilarious book by the one-and-only Neil Simon,
music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, Porthouse is proud to have
MaryAnn Black star as Charity Hope Valentine and Eric van Baars as Oscar,
her love interest. Charity is a taxi dancer with a heart of gold but a will
of tin foil who inevitably gives her heart - and earnings - to the wrong
man. Featuring such greats as If My Friends Could See Me Now and Hey, Big
Spender, audiences will fall in love with Sweet Charity. Opening
Night/Press Night: July 27. The meet-the-cast champagne reception following
the show will be hosted by four-star Cuyahoga Falls restaurant LeFever's
River Grille.

"People from all over the Cleveland and Akron, and even the Canton, areas
enjoy coming to Porthouse Theatre because we have a great staff, we are
focused on customer service, and we offer great shows at affordable prices,"
said Terri Kent, artistic director of Porthouse. "Once people have
experienced Porthouse, it usually becomes a summer tradition. This
explains how we're celebrating our 39th anniversary this year and at the
