Props Carpenter
The Cleveland Play House (LORT C) the oldest continuously operating regional
theatre in America, is accepting applications for a Properties Carpenter.
CPH produces a 9 show main stage season, 3 children's shows and 2 shows with
the Case Western Reserve University MFA program. Applicants should have 1-3
years of professional experience, preferably in regional theatre. Detailed
knowledge of advanced woodworking required.  Some metal working and welding.
Working knowledge of mechanics a plus.  Must have ability to plan projects
and work independently. Individual should have good organizational and
communication skills and be able to assist the Properties Manager with
general prop craftwork.  The Prop Carpenter is primarily responsible for
furniture building and construction of large props. Other responsibilities
include maintaining shop tools and equipment and maintaining hardware,
lumber and metal inventories. Valid driver's license and ability to lift
heavy objects necessary.  Position is full time, seasonal and runs from

Assistant Technical Director
The Cleveland Play House (LORT C), the oldest continuously operating
regional theatre in America, is accepting applications for an ATD.  CPH
produces a 9 show main stage season, 3 children's shows and 2 shows with the
Case Western Reserve University MFA program. The ATD will assist the TD in
all aspects of stage production. Primary responsibilities include drafting
of construction drawings, tracking and maintaining budgets and inventories,
ordering materials, tools and supplies, and researching materials. The ATD
also takes the lead in construction and installation of the children's
series and MFA shows. Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of
stage carpentry and rigging and 1-3 years professional experience,
preferably in regional theatre. Purchasing and budget tracking experience a
plus. Position requires strong communication, organizational and planning
skills. Experience with AutoCAD or VectorWorks, and MS Office software
required.  A valid driver's license and clean DMV record also required. Must
be able to work at heights and lift up to 70 pounds. Position is full time,
seasonal and runs from August 13, 2007 through April 20, 2008.  E-mail
