There is still plenty of time to come out to the theatre and audition! We
need you!

So be a part of history! THE MOUSETRAP by Agatha Christie is the world's
longest running show, of any kind, in the world. The New Ambassadors
Theatre in London's West End opened its doors to the opening night
production of THE MOUSETRAP on November 25, 1952. For the last 30 years the
St Martin's Theatre has been the home of THE MOUSETRAP, for more than half
of its record breaking 52 year run. As a stage play THE MOUSETRAP has had
over twenty-two thousand performances and sold over ten million tickets!

PERFORMANCE DATES: September 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22 - 2007

NEEDED: Five males, three females

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

*	Mollie Ralston - proprietor of Monkswell Manor, and wife of Giles.
Although initially above suspicion, it later transpires Mollie made a secret
trip to London on the same day Maureen Lyon was murdered.
*	Giles Ralston - husband of Mollie who runs Monkswell Manor with his
wife. The very first suspect, as Giles enters the stage dressed in clothing
similar to that worn by the killer. It transpires Giles also made a secret
trip to London on the day Maureen Lyon was murdered. Even Mollie begins to
suspect Giles, when she realizes she has known him just a year and knows
nothing of his background.
*	Christopher Wren - the first guest to arrive at the hotel, Wren is a
hyperactive young man, who is depicted as being gay and acts in a very
peculiar manner. He admits he is running away from something, but refuses to
admit what. The audience quickly leaps to the conclusion he was one of the
abused children, driven schizophrenic by repeated abuse and now a murderer.
*	Mrs Boyle - a critical spinster of a woman who is pleased by nothing
she observes. A former magistrate, we discover she had placed the three
children in Maureen Lyon's care. Shortly afterwards she is murdered and
therefore the only character above suspicion.
*	Major Metcalf - retired from the army, little is known about Major
Metcalf. Suspicion falls upon him once it is revealed that the father of the
three siblings was in the army at the time their mother died, which led to
them being put into care. Perhaps he was seeking a terrible revenge?
*	Miss Casewell - a strange, aloof woman who speaks offhandedly about
the horrific experiences of her childhood. Refusing to give any more away,
the natural conclusion is that she is one of the abused children, here to
seek a terrible revenge.
*	Mr Paravicini - a man of unknown provenance. He appears to be
affecting a foreign accent and artificially aged with make-up. Who he is or
where he comes from remains a mystery and his refusal to answer a direct
question only underlines this point. The audience is encouraged to theorize
he is the children's father, disguised as an elderly foreigner and returned
from the army to wreak a terrible revenge.
*	Sergeant Trotter - the hero of the piece, who valiantly arrives in a
snow storm to protect the guests from the murderer; however, as the play
progresses, we wonder what do we actually know about Sergeant Trotter?
*	Maureen Lyon (unseen in the play) - the first victim. Mrs Lyon was
imprisoned for abusing three siblings left in her foster care. Upon release
from prison she moved to London, seeking anonymity, where she was murdered.

BASIC INFORMATION: Auditions are held at our theatre, located at: 732 W.
Exchange Street, Akron, OH 44302. Auditions last approximately two hours in
the evening.

BEING PREPARED: You will be asked to read from the script. You should come
prepared to stay the entire time; some directors will see you once and tell
you when they're done with you, others will have you read periodically
throughout the night. If you are unable to stay the entire time, inform the
director or their assistant when you need to leave so they can be sure you
have a chance to be seen before you leave. If you leave before the director
announces the end of auditions, make sure they know you're leaving so they
don't call your name out later in the evening, expecting you to read again.

TIME COMMITMENT: Each director will determine the rehearsal schedule, but in
general, be prepared to rehearse Monday through Thursday for a few hours
each night starting at approximately 7:00 PM; and on Sunday at approximately
6:30 PM. Generally speaking, you will be required to rehearse for six to
eight weeks prior to the opening of the show. Please know that the week
before a show opens is very busy and requires your attendance; know what
days you will be unavailable to attend rehearsals when you come to
auditions.

REHEARSALS BEGIN: Monday, July 9, 2007
