CHFS FALL PLAY YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU
   
  The hilarious comedy You  Can't Take It With You marks the first high school play in the new Performing Arts Center. This play by George S. Kaufmann and Moss Hart, won the Pulitizer Prize, was a smash hit on Broadway and won two Academy Awards for best picture and best director.
  
The fast-moving story in three acts centers around the eccentric but lovable NYC family, the Sycamores. The only seemingly normal family member, daughter Alice, is in love with her boss's son, Tony Kirby.  Chaos and plenty of laughs happen when Tony brings his family to meet Alice's household of crazy characters including her grandpa who  happily collects snakes, her father who makes fireworks in the basement and her mother who writes plays because a typewriter was accidentally delivered years ago. Other characters include the very proper Mr. and Mrs. Kirby, Alice's sister Essie who dances around the house, dreaming of being a ballet dancer, her husband Ed, Essie's Russian dance instructor, FBI agents, a cook and her husband, a Russian countess who loves to cook plus other household friends and even an IRS employee. A police raid throws both families in jail where their different attitudes and values become even more apparent.

The production is directed by Sandy Kosovich Peck and takes place in the beautiful Performing Arts Center at the 7-12 campus, 400 E. Washington Street.  The auditorium seats 765 people and features a very large stage and orchestra pit. 
   
  Performance dates are Friday, November 16th and Saturday, November 17th at 7:30 pm.
   
  Ticket prices for general admission are $7 for students, $9 for adults and $12 for special reserved seating. 
   
  Call the box office at 247-2072, ext. 4288 to reserve your tickets. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.
