Auditions for 
 
To Kill a Mockingbird 
 
at the Players Guild Theatre
 
January 6 & 7 starting at 7pm
 
Directed by Jonathan Tisevich
 
Ages 8-Adult may audition

All roles are available including:
 
Atticus: Late 50's, male; a father and a widower, he is quietly
impressive & courageous, reserved, civilized and does what he considers
just.
 
Scout: 8-12 yrs old, female; intelligent, a tomboy, has a combative
streak and a basic faith in the goodness of people, by the end of the
play she develops a more grown-up perspective that enables her to
appreciate human goodness without ignoring human evil.
 
Jem: 12-15 yrs old, male; typical American boy, refuses to back down
from dares and fantasizes about playing football, he is his sister's
companion and protector, is driven by a strong under current to
communicate and bond with his father.
 
Tom Robinson: Late 20s-Late 30s, African American Male; handsome,
strong, kind, sensitive and considerate, he faces up to a false
accusation with quiet dignity, an example of innocence destroyed by
evil.
 
Calpurnia: late 20s-early 40s, African American Female; proud and
reliable, self educated, with high standards and uncompromising
discipline with the children, she has raised the motherless Scout and
Jem.
 
Miss Maudie; late 30s-early 50s; female; acts as a narrator, a lovely
sensitive woman, has a wisdom and compassion that suggests the best
instincts of the South of that period.
 
Especially seeking African American Male & Female Actors of all ages.
 
 
 
 
The Players Guild Theatre is located at 
1001 Market Ave. North 
in the Cultural Center for the Arts in downtown Canton.
