[NEohioPAL] Winter Classes at Playhouse Square

The Arts Education Department at Playhouse Square is offering a cabaret
class and three dance classes for adults this winter.  The ballroom and
hip hop classes are just right for beginners and intermediate beginners;
more experienced dancers can register for the intermediate ballet class.
Singers with any amount of experience are welcome in Cabaret 101.  

 

Classes begin in January.  To register, call 216.348.7909 or visit
www.PlayhouseSquare.org/ArtsEducation.  Classes with insufficient
enrollment will be cancelled, so be sure to register in advance if you
are interested.

 

Classes are held in the Idea Center at Playhouse Square (1375 Euclid
Ave.).

 

Cabaret 101

Mondays, Jan. 21 - Mar. 10

6-9:30 PM

$350

 

Participants learn a new form of self-expression and discover new
self-confidence as they explore the exciting genre of cabaret and
prepare to perform a 10-minute set at the end of the course.  Background
and experience do not matter in this relaxed and supportive environment.

 

Ballroom Blitz II

11 a.m. - American Tango

12 p.m. - Rumba

2 p.m. - Mambo/Salsa

3 p.m. - Samba

$50 for the day or $15 per one-hour session             

 

This continuation of Playhouse Square's popular Ballroom Blitz class
focuses on the American Tango, Rumba, Mambo, Salsa and Samba.
Individuals and couples are welcome; participants may sign up for each
one-hour session independently or for all four sessions.  

 

Hip Hop Dance

Tuesdays, Jan. 22 - Mar. 11

6:30-7:45 p.m.

$110 per 8-week session or $15 per class  

 

Participants learn to bust a move and dance at a pace everyone can
appreciate.

 

Intermediate Ballet

Wednesdays, Jan. 23 - Mar. 12

6-7:30 p.m.

$80 per 8-week session or $12 per class  

 

Participants must have basic knowledge of ballet vocabulary and ability
to execute basic barre and centre work.  A professional rate of $7 per
