SO MUCH TO SEE AT THE STOCKER ARTS CENTER
OVER THE NEXT 10 DAYS !

Tomorrow night: Friday, February 22, 2008 - 7:30pm
"ONCE"

2007 (PG-13) 88 min. UK
Director: John Carney
Cast: Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová

The Irish romance ONCE may be a musical, but it is miles away from the traditional Hollywood idea of people bursting into song. Glen Hansard plays a street musician who is playing for change when he meets an immigrant from the Czech Republic. The pair immediately bond over their shared love of music (he is a guitarist, and she plays the piano), and the film chronicles their tentative relationship. A charming, captivating tale of love and music. One of the best reviewed films of the year.

Katie Couric's "The Brand New Kid"
Adapted for the stage by Melanie Marnich, Music by Michael Friedman, Lyrics by Marnich and Friedman, Directed by Nick Olcott

It's the first day of 2nd grade! The kids are all excited to start the school year in the city of Delasky, but Lazlo S. Gasky isn't sure about being the new kid at Brookhaven School. Lazlo is a typical 7-year old boy, but his classmates think that a new kid in Delasky is just too weird in a place that's all the same. By the end of this uplifting musical the class learns something about themselves and new kids that isn't in their textbooks or backpacks! www.kennedy-center.org/programs/family/ontour <http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/family/ontour>
