The Cleveland Play House is casting an African American male actor for its
upcoming production of A Raisin in the Sun, playing the role of Travis, who
is 11 years of age.

The play will go into rehearsal October 13 and will run November 7-30. All
efforts will be made to keep the young man in school for all but a few days
during that period.

The commitment to this production also involves playing the role of Travis
in the same production when it travels to the Arizona Theatre Company later
in the year. The Arizona Theatre Company has two locations, one in Tuscson
and one in Phoenix.

The first rehearsal in Tucson will be January 2, and it will perform there
January 10-31. The first rehearsal in Phoenix is February 4 and it will
perform there February 5-22.

The actor will receive $400 per week from the Cleveland Play House. The
Arizona Theatre Company will be required to sign the actor to an Actors'
Equity Association contract and pay him $750 per week, but as Arizona is a
"right-to-work" state the actor will not be required to join.

The Arizona Theatre Company is prepared to accommodate a parent or custodian
for the entire trip to Arizona and to provide tutoring.

We ask that young men only audition for this role if they are or if they can
pass for 11 years of age, and if they are available to travel to Arizona for
that portion of the production.

Auditions will be by appointment only on Monday, June 16 from 4:00 until
7:00. If you have any questions or you wish to make an appointment, please
respond to this email.
