Discover what's new in the enchanted trunk of treasures. Each

week this prop based class will teach students how to convey

simple characters and to use their imagination to turn ordinary

objects into extraordinary ones. Instructor Sean Booker will start

these students on the path to creating bold characters for their

future in theater. The class will culminate in a short presentation

of the best discoveries made in the enchanted trunk of treasures.

Instructor Magic Mike Brooks and his lovely assistant Miss. Carli

Miluk will bring every day magic to students in this new class for

young and aspiring Houdinis. Throughout the session students

will learn slight of hand tricks with everyday objects and see

how professional illusions are really done. At the end of the class

students will have a few tricks to take home with them and will

also get to show off their skills right along side Magic Mike in a

showcase for parents and friends.

The SCA Junior Show Choir Class will allow students to develop

both vocal and dance technique in a fun and upbeat environment

while exploring great music from the wonderful world of Musical

Theater and beyond. Students will benefit by performing in and

around their own community which will in turn help by preparing

them for Theater, Dance and Music prospects in their future.

Students will be accepted into this class by audition only.

*Auditions:*

*Voice: *Saturday, August 23, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm *Students

auditioning should call SCA to make an appointment for

their audition. Each student is asked to prepare a song that best

highlights their vocal skills. All students are required to bring

their sheet music to the audition for the accompanist.

*Dance: *Saturday, August 30, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm *Students

auditioning for the SCA Junior Show Choir Class must attend

the dance audition. Students should wear comfortable clothing

and be prepared to move.

*Tuition: **$400.00 + $100.00 costume fee* **Costume fee covers*

*all costs except dance shoes. All students will be responsible for*

*obtaining specific type, style and color specified by SCA.*

*SCA*Theater Techniques Classes



The Theater Technique classes (T.T. 201 - 401) have been created to help
build each student's core theatrical skills. These skills will give them the
opportunity to concentrate on the educational aspect of theater in order to
better support their work on stage. In every level of the Theater Techniques
series students will be presented with an age appropriate curriculum of
theater skill sets. Those wishing to audition for an SCA Production must be
enrolled in a Theater Technique class.

*THEATER BUILDING BLOCKS (T.T. 201)                                  **

Students will focus on developing larger than life characters

as they set out on their journey as young performing artists.

This class will also provide students with the solid building

blocks of theater by introducing them to basic improvisational

and line memorization techniques as well as stage direction

and the concepts of blocking.

Students will begin to focus in on character analysis and explore

more advanced improvisational techniques. As the "sophomores"

of the Theater Techniques series, these students will take the skills

that they have already developed and begin to fine tune their

abilities as actors. They will also have the benefit of studying

proper audition techniques and etiquette.

*ADVANCED TECHNIQUES (T.T. 401)

In addition to reemphasizing the acting skills covered in Theater

Techniques classes 201 and 301, this final level of the Theater

Techniques series will explore script and character analysis.

This analysis will assist students by helping them see "the bigger

picture" of how stories come to life on stage. Students in

this level will explore advanced improvisation and alternative

staging techniques.

This class is great for any student who would like to refine their

audition techniques. Instructor Dominick Chicotel will explain

proper audition etiquette and help each student to get the most

out of their chosen monologue.
