Re: AUDITIONS
* Karamu Performing Arts Theatre will hold auditions for singers only
for its 2008/2009 holiday favorite BLACK NATIVITY by Langston Hughes
directed by Mr. Terence Greene.
When: Monday September 22nd @ 6:30 pm
Wednesday September 24th @ 6:30 pm
Callbacks: Monday, September 29th @ 6:30pm
What: Singers should be prepared to sing two songs and be able to move
well.
Please come wearing comfortable clothing.
Singers should prepare two (2) contrasting Gospel Songs
One slow and one up tempo
Singers should bring: Resume and a Head Shot
Black Nativity is a theatrical presentation focused on the religious and
spiritual aspects of the Christmas story. It is performed with electrifying
gospel music, colorful costuming and with stunning dance context. One of
the most produced Christmas classics of all time and a Karamu holiday staple
Black Nativity was written by Karamu alumnus, and inductee to its 3rd class
of Hall of Fame, Langston Hughes.
BLACK NATIVITY runs December 5, 2008 thru December 28, 2008, in the
Jelliffe Theatre
Previews Wednesday, December 3rd and Thursday, December 4th
Performances are Thursday thru Saturday @ 8:00 p.m and Sundays @ 3:00 p.m.
