Solon Center for the Arts Now Offering Dance for Musical Theater Classes

Beginning on September 18, class will be open to students enrolled in Grades
7 - 10 and will be held in two sessions. So whether you are auditioning for
a show in the fall or spring or preparing for show choir auditions, Dance
for Musical Theater is a great way to hone your skills!

Students in Grades 7 - 10 can participate on Thursdays from 8:00 pm - 9:00
pm in Session A, Session B or both! Session A will held from September 18,
2008 - February 5, 2009. Session B will be held from February 12, 2009 -
June 4, 2009. The cost of the class will be $160.00 per session or $300.00
for the entire year.

Dance for Musical Theater is an excellent way to increase self-esteem and
confidence. The class offers students a chance to explore self-expression
and creativity in relationship to dance, theater and show choir. Throughout
the session, students will learn about ballet, jazz and some tap while
learning character steps that are geared toward the stage. In addition they
will learn about the history behind musical theater and have the chance to
explore choreography that has been adapted from several notable musicals.
The only requirement to participate in this class is an eagerness to learn
more about musical theater, a longing to feel better prepared for dance
auditions, and a desire to have fun! If you would like register for this
