Groundbreaking for Construction of Dobama Theatre's New Home

March 31, 2009

 

 

Dobama Theatre kicked-off construction of their long-awaited new theatre
yesterday on the lower level of The Heights Arts Building at 2340 Lee Road,
Cleveland Heights. Capital Campaign contributors and Trustees of the theatre
and the CH/UH Library were in attendance at the ceremonial commencement of
construction. 

 

CH/UH Library Executive Director, Nancy Levin and Library Board President
Glenn Billington and lead donors: Barbara Hill-Newby and William Newby,
Maurice Heller, Spencer Caress, and Barbara Columbi were on hand to pick-up
shovels for the ceremonial groundbreaking. (See attached jpg. photo.)

 

Dobama Managing Director, Dianne Boduszek and Board President, William Newby
thanked donors and spoke of Dobama's history in the community. Managing
Director, Dianne Boduszek and Artistic Director, Joel Hammer have planned an
exciting first season in the new theatre slated to open in the fall. The new
season includes five main stage productions and the 32nd Annual Marilyn
Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival. A sneak peek at the new theatre is
scheduled for the summer and a Community Open House is slated for Saturday,
September 19, 2009.
