Deathtrap by Ira Levin was one of the biggest hits in the history of Broadway.

The basic premise here is:  How far will someone go to have a hit play?  A hit play on Broadway.  It is a story where everyone has hidden motives.

It starts with the play DEATHTRAP written by an unknown playwright (Joe Samora) bound to be a big hit on Broadway.  Almost every character in this story tries to pass the play off as their own work,  There’s absolutely nothing that any of them would stop at to get it.

Sidney Bruel (Mark Stoffer) a leading Broadway playwright and his wife Myra (Sue Jeromson) plot to make this play their own in the most devious of ways including treachery and murder. Rounding out the cast is Sidney’s lawyer (Bob Yavorsky) and Helga (Harriet DeVito) a neighboring physic who is famous for figuring out murder plots.   The characters in this play not only want to pocess the story of the perfect murder but also to live it.

Sue Jeromson last seen at the playhouse in Nightwatch and Bob Yavorsky who delighted audiences in God’s favorite are both excited to return to the playhouse.
Mark Stoffer, Joe Samora and local favorite Harriet De Veto make their debut performances at WRP in this production.

Alex Nine who last performed at the playhouse in Rumors makes his directorial debut at WRP with this production.  Other directing credits include The Nerd at Coach House theatre which was chosen to represent the Northeast region at the state conference.  Alex is a member of the Ohio Shakespeare Festival at Stan Hywet where he appeared in eight shows over the last four summers.  He has chosen Kelly Johnson as his stage manager.  Dawna Kornick is assistant stage manager.   Bobbie Birch and David Klainer join their team.  Jonathan Fletcher also makes a first time appearance at the playhouse as customer.

Walt Kaminski again returns as Set Designer.  Anna Zender and Mary Ryan will handle the decorating chores.  Marie Dusini and Sue Synder are co-producers.
