The Music Settlement (formerly Cleveland Music School Settlement) is offering new dance classes for typically developing children/teens and adapted dance classes for students ages 24 months-adult.  For more information, check out the website at www.themusicsettlement.org or call 216-421-5806 extension 100.

For typically developing children and teens...
Mommy and Me Dance Explorers
$204, 17 weeks or $408, 34 weeks (ages 24 mo- 4 years)
Make
quality time creative time. This class, designed for children and their
parents, includes pre-dance and tumbling skills. It focuses on the body
in relation to their environment and space. This class is ideal for
children who are typically developing and those with special needs.
(This class can be for daddies and nannies too!) Classes meet once a
week. Monday: 9:30 a.m.-10:10 a.m.
Monday: 5:40 p.m.-6:20 p.m.
Dance Explorers$204, 17 weeks or $408, 34 weeks (ages 4 & 5)
This
introduction to dance includes simple coordination and rhythm through
tumbling and dance skills. This class encourages students to explore
space, use their imaginations and have fun with dance exercises. This
class is geared to children who are typically developing and to those
with special needs Classes meet once a week.
Wednesday: 3:35 p.m.-4:15 p.m.
Thursday: 11:35 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Ballet/Musical Theater Jazz
$255, 17 weeks or $510, 34 weeks (ages 5 – 8)
Students
get to explore two styles of dance in each class. During ballet,
dancers gain vocabulary, technique and discipline through exercises at
the barre, in the center, and across the floor. During jazz, Broadway
musical style technique will be taught through turns, leaps, rolls, and
jumps. This level is perfect for the young dancer and focuses on
coordination, self-expression, and stage presence. Classes meet once a
week.
Monday: 3:30 -4:30 p.m. 

Ballet/Musical Theater Jazz$255, 17 weeks or $510, 34 weeks (ages 9-12)
This
is a great way for an intermediate dancers to explore different styles
of dance in every class. In ballet, dancers have exercises at the
barre, in the center, and across the floor to introduce the vocabulary,
technique and discipline of classical ballet. During jazz,
Broadway-musical theater style technique will be taught through turns,
leaps, rolls and jumps. This class finale is a fast-paced combination.
This class focuses on coordination, self-expression and stage presence.
Classes meet once a week.
Monday: 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Adapted Dance Sampler
$740, 37 weeks (ages 5 - Adult)
This class is designed for
individuals with a range of special needs and focuses on dance styles
of interest to the dancers, from creative movement to ballet and jazz.
The classes are tailored to individual needs for fun in a relaxed
social environment. Dancers work on stretching and movements to enhance
mobility, strength, flexibility, coordination, poise, rhythm and grace.
No previous dance/movement experience is required. Classes meet once a
week.

Wednesday: 4:15-5:15 p.m. (Ages 5-10)
Wednesday: 5:15-6:15 p.m. (Ages 11-18)
Wednesday: 6:15-7:15 p.m. (Ages 19-Adult)
