ANNOUNCING 2 NEW WORKSHOPS IN THE MICHAEL CHEKHOV ACTING TECHNIQUE!!!

Both workshops will be held at the Cleveland Play House, in a
dedicated classroom space. The workshops will be conducted from
6:30-9:00 on Fridays , 10-1 and 2-6 on Saturdays and 10-1 on Sundays.
We hope that participants can be there for all three of the sessions
for each workshop but separate arrangements can be made.

November 6-8, 2009 - The Mask of the Character
The desire to be transformed onstage is universal for actors. The
mask for us becomes the role we play; the character as distinct from
our everyday selves. As actors we use the mask of character to create
our own individuality that lives onstage. How is that done? What is
the process? Michael Chekhov takes the actor through the
transformation step by step and reveals how simply yet detailed this
process is. Discover the psychology of the character, the life they
lead, through your imagination and the images you create.

November 2020-22 Auditioning with Chekhov: An Imaginative Approach
Auditioning is a lifelong process for the actor and a very specific
skill. This workshop will give you tools to create an imaginative and
lively presentation at your auditions. Using the Techniques of
Michael Chekhov, infusing that with ideas of the creative imagination
from Meyerhold and working with the practical approach of Joanna
Merlin, this workshop will help you become a more confident and able
auditioner. You must have 2 memorized pieces to work on.

The teachers of these workshops will be Lionel Walsh, Mark Monday, and
Catherine Albers, all certified teachers of the Michael Chekhov and co-
founders of the Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium. The cost of
the workshops is $150.00 each, or you can take both for $250.00.
There is a special cost reduction for students of $120.00 for one
workshop and $200.00 for both.
