Locals to be Cast to Perform with Broadway Actors Robert Cuccioli and
Erin Leigh Peck in LCCC Premier of "Home Sweet Homeland"

Several talented northeast Ohio actors will be given the unique
opportunity to act alongside Broadway professionals in the new play
"Home Sweet Homeland" at Lorain County Community College's Stocker Arts
Center. Tony Award nominated director/choreographer Lynne Taylor-Corbett
will direct the production.

Broadway actors Robert Cuccioli and Erin Leigh Peck have been cast to
play two roles in the play. Cuccioli was the star of "Jeckyll and Hyde"
on Broadway and is currently appearing in "A Moon to Dance By" at the
George Street Playhouse. Peck is currently starring in "The Toxic
Avenger" off-Broadway, and was previously in "Brighton Beach Memoirs" on
Broadway.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m., January 29 and January 30 in the Studio
Theatre at LCCC's Stocker Arts Center.

Playwright and actress Joanna Rush wrote the play based on her
experiences on and following September 11, 2001. Living in an apartment
across the street from the World Trade Center, Rush saw the world she
knew crumble.

"Home Sweet Homeland" follows five neighbors through the events of that
day - from the attack, to their evacuation and eventual return to or
abandonment of their homes at Ground Zero. All are devastated and full
of doubt about the world and each other. What is the truth? At what cost
will the truth be uncovered? What is "safe"? Will we ever laugh again?
Together, a young boy, a musician, a financial analyst and a couple of
comediennes stumble through the pathways of mind and heart to seek the
truth and find their way back to trust and laughter.

Local actors will be cast to fill at least five roles in the play and
will also be used as understudies for the roles being filled by Rush and
other Broadway professionals. One of the large roles being cast locally
is that of Frankie Devlin, the bright and curious 10-year-old son (or
daughter) of a stand-up comic. More information of parts available and
how to submit video auditions can be found at
http://www.lorainccc.edu/Stocker+Arts+Center/Home+Sweet+Homeland+Auditio
ns.htm. All auditions must be received by December 18.

Those selected must be able to attend rehearsals, which are scheduled
for 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, January 24 and 7-11 p.m., Monday, January
25 through Thursday, January 28. Though all the actors may not be
scheduled to be at rehearsal all of the hours, they must be available
during those time periods in case they are called for rehearsal.
