[NEohioPAL] "TXT-ING, ROUND DOS" in ONE WEEK!

Oddy Festival oddyfest at gmail.com
Sat May 29 11:34:52 PDT 2010

Please consider joining OddyFest for another round of "txt-ing"; that is,
plays and music highlighting the current texting trend among youths.
Witness technology's effects on the writing process in Ian Adler's "The
Stars", see how texting is used as a strategy to isolate oneself from
society in Matt Goldman's "Stand Off", and hear a few songs from Hamilton's
Revenge!'s latest album, including the txting-themed "Bubble Gum World". We
also have a really dirty intermission piece that I won't even describe to
NEOhioPAL for fear of being booted off the island.

The odd and FREE fun starts *next Friday, June 4th, at 7:15 p.m. at the
Brody-Nelson MTG Room of the Cleveland Heights Library (2345 Lee Road).*
It's rumored that the Oddy house band Hamilton's Revenge! will be giving
away copies of its sophomore album. Hope to see you then! If not, txt me
and I'll let you know what happened...

*Txt-ing, Round Dos: OddyFest #22*

* *

*Oddy’s summer season kicks off with the sequel to last June’s*

*hit program, once again chronicling texters and texting*

* *

*“The Stars” by Ian Adler*

>From Virgil guiding Dante out of Hell to Dante guiding Adler writing this
play to Adler guiding a Future Writer (ca. 2300), “The Stars” shines an
equally critical and humorous spotlight on the past, present, and future of
writing and its place in society.

*“Dialogue #3” by Jason Hadorn*

* *

You don’t want to know… If you have any modicum of morality, you may want
to take a bathroom break during this farce of a Platonic dialogue.

*“Stand Off” by Matt Goldman*

This sequel to last year’s zany “Stand Down” focuses on a promising writer
engulfed in a world of texters, manipulative bosses, sleazy secretaries,
game show hosts, and a ubiquitous piano man. Can he survive these stand
offs with his integrity intact?

*Featuring the much-awaited return of Oddy’s house band,*

*“HAMILTON’s REVENGE!” playing hits from the brand-new*

*album “MANY UNHAPPY RETURNS”! (Album will be on sale [“on free” if you
want to haggle] after the shows!)*

*The Odd FRIDAYS:*

*June 4 / June 18*

*Show starts at 7:15*

* *

*BRODY-NELSON ROOM*

*of the Cleveland Heights Library, Lee Road Branch*

*(2345 Lee Road, just next to the stairs)*

*FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!*
