Classical cello and piano recital performed at Kent State University at Stark



(Jackson Township, OH - September 3, 2010)      Kent State University at Stark Music Department presents a performance by chamber cellist Keith Robinson and classical pianist Donna Lee on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Main Hall Auditorium, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. The concert, which will feature timeless music from Beethoven, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn, is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.



A member of the Thouvenel and Montani Quartets, Robinson is a founding member of the Miami String Quartet. He won the P.A.C.E. Classical Artist of the Year award in 1989. He has been a featured artist on several classical CDs and, along with other members of the Quartet, he serves as an artist-in-residence at Kent State University. They are also Quartet in Residence at the Kent/Blossom Music Festival, as well as visiting guest artists at the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut. Robinson has performed as a soloist with the Palm Beach Symphony, Midland - Odessa Symphony, Miami Chamber Symphony and Curtis Symphony Orchestra.



Lee made her solo debut in 1990 with the National Symphony Orchestra and has since performed at the Kennedy Center, Terrace Theater and Lincoln Center, as well as international venues. She has been heard in radio broadcast performances and has recorded for several labels. Lee has taught at Peabody Conservatory, Bucknell University and Michigan's Interlochen Arts Camp. She is an associate professor and coordinator of Kent State University's piano division and during the summers, she co-directs the Piano Institute at Kent State University and artist-faculty at Kent/Blossom Chamber Music and North Carolina's Brevard Music Center.



Blue Griffin Recording will soon release a collaborative CD by Robinson and Lee, featuring the complete works for cello and piano by Felix Mendelssohn.
