Ohio Dance Theatre Youth Ballet Audition

Sunday, April 17 from 1:00-3:00 pm

 

Ohio Dance Theatre is auditioning serious young dancers ages 10-19 for the
2011-12 Season of the Ohio Dance Theatre Youth Ballet Company.  Audition
will be held on April 17 from 1:00-3:00pm at Ohio Dance Theatre located at
39 South Main Street in Oberlin, OH 44074. 

 

Company members have two performances annually and perform in local
Festivals and Community Outreach programs.  Members also have the
opportunity to participate in Ohio Dance Theatre’s annual production of “The
Nutcracker” and select dancers are invited to perform with the ODT
professional company in rep concerts and other programs.  

 

Dancers between ages 15-19 may also apply for the Lawrence Scholarship on
the day of audition Applications are available online at

If unable to attend the April 17 audition, you may submit a DVD audition
along with the online audition form. The DVD audition requirements are:

 

A 15-20 minutes demonstration of barre and center technique.  Please include
pliés, battement tendus, battement jété, ronde de jambe, passé, développé en
croix, grande battements and balances on one leg for barre.  The center
technique should include adagio, pirouettes, petite allegro and grande
allegro.  (For advance female dancers the center should be on pointe.)
